Wilson S. Jing
Biography
LCDR Wilson Jing graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2008. He began his Naval career as a recipient of the Navy Health Professions Scholarship and subsequently earned his dental degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He completed his graduate dental education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Following residency, he served at the 2nd Dental Battalion, Camp Lejeune, where he practiced full-scope oral surgery, managed the battalion’s sole sedation clinic, mentored Advanced Education in General Dentistry residents, and handled facial trauma and odontogenic infection calls at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune. He achieved Board Certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 2019. In September 2020, LCDR Jing reported to USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). During this tour, he endured an extended deployment due to COVID-19, serving eight months at sea. Post-sea tour, he was assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Yokosuka as the only Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for the US Navy on mainland Japan, responsible for 43,000 active-duty personnel across three branches and their beneficiaries. Besides his clinical duties, he served as Department Head and Chairman of the Provider Wellness Committee. LCDR Jing reported to the Hospital Ship USNS Mercy and Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command San Diego in August 2022, where he was assigned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. His exemplary performance as an Oral Surgeon led to his selection as Department Head of the MCRD Dental Clinic. In addition to his shore duties, LCDR Jing deployed with Expeditionary Medical Facility Alpha on USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) for Pacific Partnership 2023.
